School hours are 8:00-2:30. However, children may begin arriving in classrooms at 7:30. Students will be considered tardy if they arrive at school after 8:00 am. If your child is tardy, you must sign in your child at the front desk and have your child bring the tardy slip to class. If your child is absent from school, please call the school and leave a message for me. Send a note with your child explaining the absence upon your child’s return to school. Regular attendance is critical to success; however, if your child is ill, please have him/her remain at home. Advance notice of plans to take your child out of school for vacations is appreciated.
Jackson Primary is required, by law, to adhere to the following Atlanta Public School attendance policy:
5 absences or tardies =a letter from our principal
7 absences=a referral to the school social worker
Tardies are closely monitored
